Baseboards & Trim DIY Guide

Trim is the frame around a floor. Choosing and buying trim, removing the old without wrecking the wall, coped inside corners and tight outside miters, scarf joints and returns, nailing it right over floating floors, shoe molding and quarter round, and the filling, caulking and paint that make it look built-in.

Questions

I have never coped a corner. Can I learn it from this?

Yes. The guide explains it step by step with drawings, and suggests practicing on scraps first. Paint-grade trim is the most forgiving way to start.

Do I need a nail gun?

A finish nailer makes the job much faster and neater, and you can rent one. The tool list is on the free sample pages.

How do I get my files?

Right after payment you land on your download page, and the same link is emailed to you. The link doesn’t expire, so you can download again on another device later.

Can I print it?

Yes. The guides are letter-size PDFs made to read on a screen or print at home, and the worksheets are designed to be printed and written on.

Can I get a refund?
